Hear, receive, and love God's holy word, showing holy confidence in God

"Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God." 1 Peter 1:21, KJV

Abandon selfishness, lest the Holy Spirit, lest you're left in terror and darkness...

"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:18, KJV

Be founded upon Christ and rooted in him...

"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;" Colossians 2:2, KJV

Have a due concern in God's name for welfare of your body and soul...

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Matthew 22:37-39, KJV

Love God by not showing selfish disposition, or anger, or revenge

"We love him, because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19, KJV

Cast away all corrupt inclinations and affections in God's name, trusting in his grace and goodness...

"And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?" Deuteronomy 10:12-13, KJV

Come to Yahweh by faith in Christ

"But if any man love God, the same is known of him." 1 Corinthians 8:3, KJV

Be blameless before God as a servant of Christ, an example of good works

"For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers." Titus 1:7-9, KJV

Avoid being miserable by not wickedly fleeing from the presence of God

"They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy." Jonah 2:8, KJV

Shed abroad the love of God in the hearts of all saints

"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." Romans 5:5, KJV

Be dear to other fellow-sufferers in the cause of God and be his new creation to holiness

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" Philippians 1:6, KJV

Give cause one to another in Christ's name, proving your sincerity for obedience to God's commands

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:34-35, KJV

Be a living and sanctified soul before God-and receive a life of peace

"For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Romans 8:6, KJV

Ensure that the love of God is implanted in your heart by the Holy Spirit

"Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight." 1 John 3:21-22, KJV

Exhibit faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ, so as to receive salvation

"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God." Acts 20:24 (KJV)

Be humbled before God in folly and weakness

"And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." Deuteronomy 8:17-18, KJV

Honor God by not pretending holiness while intending wickedness

"He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour." Proverbs 21:21, KJV

Never be empty of God's praises

"For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.
He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord." Psalm 33:4-5, KJV

Cry out before God on the badness of your own heart so as to enjoy his many mercies

"Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools." Ecclesiastes 7:9, KJV

Do good to others due to love to God

"And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:2, KJV
